Australian Canvas:
Canvas awnings offer more than just savings on heating and cooling costs; they also enhance the value of your home and improve your lifestyle and personal comfort throughout the year. Our collections of durable and high-quality polyester-cotton canvas are manufactured in Australia to endure the harshest Australian conditions. The fabric protectors effectively repel most stain-causing agents with their proven water-based preventative formula, ensuring the fabric is resistant to mould and mildew. This creates a barrier against water, dirt, dust, and oil, making cleaning and maintenance easier. The fabric protection is completely invisible.
Maintenance:
Brella® Classic® should be kept clean by brushing dry fabric regularly with a soft brush/broom. Hose occasionally with cold water, but do not combine the actions of brushing and hosing as may abrade coating and impart a scuffed appearance once dry. Do not allow bird droppings, earth, sand or vegetable matter to remain in contact with the canvas.
Do not apply soaps, detergents or other cleaning fluids and keep petrol, kerosene or other similar solvents away from the canvas.
Retractable awnings should not be rolled up when wet. If rolled up wet, Brella® Classic® should be opened up to dry as soon as practical to prevent mildew growth.
Should mildew spots appear, brush them off before they become attached. Persistent mildew growth should be treated with a solution o apply the diluted solution to the fabric with a soft brush or broom and rinse off thoroughly after 15 minutes.
Follow the safety directions outlined on the White King® containers. To ensure that water repellency is fully retained after continuous outdoor exposure or extensive cleaning, the fabric should be reproofed with a water repellent compound. We sell this proofing in both a 2L and 5L tub.
